المساحة الحرة على القرص الصلب. فقد أطلقت شركة هيتاشي المتخصصة في إنتاج
الإلكترونيات أكبر و أول قرص صلب في العالم بمساحه 1تيرا بايت. التيرابايت الواحد
يعادل 1024جيجابايت.
ويعد هذا القرص الصلب من هيتاشي والذي أطلقت عليه اسم Deskstar 7K1000 . وبذلك تكون
هيتاشي قد سجلت السبق في إنتاج هذا القرص ذو المساحة العالية. ويستطيع مستخدم
الكمبيوتر أن يقوم بتخزين العديد والعديد من الملفات على هذه المساحة الخيالية. فيستطيع
تخزين أكثر من 358فلم، 1000ساعة من الأفلام بدقه SDTV و 250ساعة من أفلام بدقة HDTV . 333300
ألف صورة و أيضا أكثر من 500لعبة.
فإذا كنت تمتلك كل هذا في جهاز واحد فهي أكثر من ما تحتاج.
أيضا قد يكون هذا القرص الصلب أحد الحلول الرائعة التي سوف توفر حلول التخزين لمعظم
الشركات المحلية والتي تحتاج إلى عمل نسخ احتياطيه
