وفي بيان رسمي الأجهزة الأمنية قامت بالتأشير على استضافة مباراة جنوب إفريقيا في داونز في مباراة الذهاب من ربع نهائي دوري أبطال أفريقيا يوم 29 فبراير القادم على ملعب القاهرة، ووافقت الجهات على حضور عدد كبير من المشجعين قد يصل إلى 30 ألف مشجع بعد مفاوضات بين مسؤولي النادي والوكالات الأمنية ووزير الرياضة واتحاد كرة القدم في الساعات القليلة الماضية.

رئيس النادي الأهلي نجم الأهلي السابق* الخطيب أجرى اتصالات مع وزير الشباب والرياضة ، وعمرو الجنايني ، رئيس اتحاد كرة القدم ، لتأكيد طلب الأهلي ورغبته في لعب مباراته ضد صن داونز في مباراة الذهاب من ربع نهائي دوري أبطال أفريقيا المقرر لهما هو 29 فبراير في ملعب القاهرة وبحضور عدد كبير من مشجعى القلعة الحمراء.

هذه الاتصالات أثمرت عن موافقة الجهات الأمنية على استضافة المباراة بشكل مثالي يسمح بتواجد عدد كبير من المشجعين لمساندة الفريق المصري في مشواره الإفريقي.
