Ukrainian navy claims six injured by Russian fire, after a day of rising tensions over access to the Sea of Azov

Russian forces have shot at and seized three Ukrainian navy vessels in the Black Sea, injuring six crew members according to Kiev, in a major escalation of tensions between the two countries.

The Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, has called an emergency meeting of his war cabinet and requested an emergency UN security council meeting in response to the incident.
